play and act fake 
to get a wickedly massive estate 

but money means nothing 
if your value is discounted
in the wake of financial progression
set a drift in a turbulent sea

is independence from chains
that bind economic stability
power doesn’t buy happiness, love or friends
but it buys fake company

elevate above hate-filled antics 
and hurt feelings,
stand in your truth
create a path steeped in the wooded trenches
of  hard work’s liberation 
integrity sacrificed for riches
doesn’t add up
