After I graduated from school, I discovered a situation worse that a lack of education… I was overqualified for many jobs. Yet I was under-qualified for the jobs that I desired. I needed 5 years of experience for this job and three years for that and no one was willing to train someone fresh out of school with limited prior work experience.
I hated the soul crushing feeling that I was working at a dead end job. I desired the opportunity to be the commander of my own ship. Two years ago, I started thinking about my profession and I decided that I wanted to transition into something else. I had one goal in mind become a poet come hell or high water.
If you have a goal you are chasing, I want you to know that you can do anything that you put your heart and soul into. We can go after our dreams together… The path of an artist/ entrepreneur is a long complicated one but it’s worth fighting for! And it’s never too late to start over again. As long as you have air in your lungs you have a chance to shape your future.
Don’t be afraid of failure be afraid of not trying. Sometimes we are our biggest critic. My favorite comedy Bernie Mac once said, You have to be the best within yourself. Those words inspire me everyday! You can’t look to others for acceptance or motivation. Don’t talk yourself out of good things by thinking your not good enough. You have everything you need to excel in this world so don’t give up and don’t give in!
Much love, Esha
