THE Journey

Press on black coal

One day you will be a diamond

And the ambivalent people that called you ugly

Will call you beautiful

Press on

Press on ugly duckling

One day you will be a swan

With a neck nice and long

It is greatness that you glide upon

Press on

Press on descendants of slaves

Though people apply sin to your skin

You pay no mind to them

Your peace comes from within

Born from the most high you destine to win

Press on

Press on free spirit

Continue on your gravity defying path

Hold your countenance while others laugh

Have the strength to keep walking past

The things and people that would bind you

Your cloud nine living is outside of their purview

Press on with knowledge that the journey is long
