Different Air

Different Air

The air is heavy now

It hangs down low

It dips below the waist

It touches the floor

Carries arguments from next door

It opens wide for hot lead

Speaks to humming birds blown by the breeze

Takes pathogens on a ride

So breathing is no longer free

What use to be real

Has now turned into reality TV

No more visiting family and friends with ease

The pandemic has made everyday living

Into a mockery

But no matter how different the air is…

We still have to breathe

Love always, Esha <3
