Blood Rush

Blood Rush

During the day,

We travel for destination arrival

Time is our archenemy

Lost of money is our rival

But I’m more interested in the easy-going drive

I love the look of Chicago at night

We cruise through the spaghetti bowl

With our seats back

And the windows down

The chilly, winter breeze

And the smell of burning rubber

On the highway wakes me up inside

For the first time since the lock-down…

I feel alive

As the beaming lights

From towering buildings shine on us

What we have transcends lust

You make my trembling vessel feel feverish

It’s nice to know that after two years…

You continue to make my blood rush

Here’s to love

No, actually. Here’s to us

Love always, Esha
