Our Forest

remember when love and exaltation
was the only words your lips could form
now only lies and sour remnants of lore remain
remember when sweat use to pour
from our responsive skin like rain

but as time flew by things weren’t the same
remember the late night calls
that turned pm to am
before good conversations depreciated to…
what are you saying?

remember when we use to believe
that we were meant to be
a real life fairy tale
created for just you and me

i remember it all
like a supervisor recalling their title
while the world turned on its axis…
our forest embedded in expectancy grew idle

Love Always, Esha <3
