The Breach

Mist falls over warped torn roofs
Are we all that we seem?
Or are we a dream living within a dream with no in-between?
Will we find each at the edge of forever or maybe never
Once tighter than spandex
But not built for heavy weather
If we battling the storm
We might as well do it together
So promises boil down to more
Than empty words and phony verbs
Treating love like a rumor chanted by the herd
But forgetting us
A dream prayed for with trust
Visions seen in clear fertile ground
Till the truth destroyed the moment
How to hold on without risking everything
Gripping a hot skillet
With bare hands
I remember how it started
In a mist is where we stand
Knowing that only God can mend the breach
