Passing Time

Photo by Snow White on Pexels.com

After all this time…

I didn’t know you still cared

My eyes searched for yours

But you were never there

We would close the distance from time to time

But it made no difference

And you never called

I kept your number, but the line always stalled

In truth, I stopped looking for you

I began to focus on myself

You became concerned

And asked me if there was somebody else

Silent conversations end up at your door

There you like my pictures online

It seems like moments with you

Have become harder to find

Thoughts of you don’t rest

In the corners of my mind like they use to

Memories pass on

Like leaves rushing by in a mighty stream

Hopes for a better tomorrow beacons me

The past is caught in loops

That goes on for miles

Now I pray cause the word is never going out of style

Love always, Esha <3
