He wore a scarf
Wrapped around his neck that nestled into his chest
One end rests on his back
Black, silver and grey
Like a fox that’s seen many winter’s
Knitted, fashioned and made with organic cotton
It was thick yet airy
The pattern spoke to a life full of beauty and yarn
There were rectangles that skipped through the connected stitches
And weaved into the open spaces
It kept him warm like orange flames entangled with a red glow
That roars from a fireplace on a cold winter’s eve
The fringes of it wore away as though it were bitten by a mouse
Hanging on him like joy but giving him comfort like a home cooked meal
To love something so simple
But cherish it still
Love always, Esha ❤
