Our Soul

Our Soul

Love is precious, a fragile thing

Time moves it to and fro

Where love begins and ends

Nobody knows

But we feel it in our body

We know when its in our soul

Love is easily destroyed

Yet unshakable

It is the rib protecting the heart

It beats even while the world is falling apart

It is hope in motion

A tiny, wooden sail boat in a big green ocean

It drifts with the changing tide

Strong spirits are needed for this voyage

The waves are born to make the weary sea sick

But we set sail anyway

We run from storms

But they entangle us

With lightning, wind and rain

This is a good time for a heart that’s brave

The thought of holding on is enough to make us afraid

Love is precious, a fragile thing

Time moves it to and fro

Where love begins and ends

Nobody knows

But we feel it in our body

We know when its in our soul

So we maintain

And figure out how to keep course in the rain

Skip over puddles

We open our umbrellas

And huddle under wet coats

Knowing that love could never keep us warm

But it’s enough to keep us a float

We sing songs against the crackling noises

Of the shaky, trembling trees

The twigs break and the branches give way

But the root goes nowhere

It’s depth is here to stay

We are tunneled into the earth

Underneath layers of harden rock

Meet me at the aquifer

So that we may both get our fill

Of fresh living water

Love is precious, a fragile thing

Time moves it to and fro

Where love begins and ends

Nobody knows

But we feel it in our body

We know when its in our soul

Love always, Esha ❤
