Hot lead makes the sky tremble

But it doesn’t keep the block empty

Minivans rolling, trains cruising

CTA buses are steady moving

Indoor eating is half way shutdown

But the fried chicken spot

Has a line of cars stretched around the block

Weave still getting laid,

Miraculously the rent is getting paid


It makes no difference the amount you save

Life moves with the quickness

Never able to take a break

Its hard to find freedom when your afraid


We run out of our homes for the hustle and bustle

Willing to stand up against whatever comes our way

In the Windy City…
