Test Time

The hour has arrived…

If this is a test?

I probably already failed

My palms perspire

As butterflies glide in uneasy surroundings

Answers evade me

I think about the questions

But the A, B, C, and D selections

Leave me in tatters…

So I erase…

Till my smudges appear

In grey and black marks

Covering the formerly unblemished paper

In colors that are a stark contrast to white

I waited for the passage of day

To study at night

But the material I locked away

Was far from memorized

Now all I have is my desire

To get the answers right
