One Sweet Day

I want to go outside

To catch the breeze as it flows

Through the leaves in the trees

And comes catapulting on high sails to me

 

While the thunder rolls

In a nearby cloud bank

I want to walk in the ominous smog

To feel the rain

On my tongue

 

I want to dance the night away

And drink like I’m turning 21

I want to laugh with the dandelions

While adventurous blue birds frolic and play

 

Someday… I will run and skip

On the arch of the rainbow

As I kiss grey skies away

One sweet day

I want to go outside
