A Glass for Me

pour that there bitter wine out the bottle

let it water the gathering weeds

aged to perfection, giving poor directions

to a wispy path coated by sobriety

ignorance runs out into the streets

the broken ground clamors beneath heavy feet

the sidewalk begs

for something strong to drink

and once you’re done…

tilt the glass a little for me
